Every bathroom has the potential to become a sanctuary, a space that balances comfort, safety, and style. In this recent project, we helped a homeowner transform their old, tired shower into a beautiful, accessible, and modern retreat—starting from the ground up.
The first step was a complete demolition. We removed the old shower pan, tub, surround, and valve, making way for a brand-new setup tailored to both form and function. Our team took special care during this phase, using a HEPA dust collection system to minimize dust and protect the air quality throughout the home.
With the space cleared, we began building a new foundation. Moisture-resistant greenboard was installed behind the walls to prevent water damage, and solid backing was added to support future safety features like grab bars and seating. At the heart of the transformation was a sleek 32” x 60” white composite stone shower pan—barrier-free and slip-resistant, making it both safe and stylish.
To finish the shower walls, we installed a three-wall acrylic surround in a classic white subway tile pattern. It’s a timeless look that complements any décor, and every joint was carefully sealed to ensure lasting durability and water resistance.
For ease of use and a clean, modern aesthetic, we included a single-handle shower valve paired with a chrome handheld wand—perfect for accessibility and convenience. Safety and comfort were also a top priority, with a 24″ chrome grab bar mounted on sturdy, reinforced walls for added support.
To help organize shower essentials, two chrome corner shelves were installed at the homeowner’s preferred height. They provide a polished look and practical storage without compromising space.
One of the highlights of this project was the new frosted sliding glass shower door. With one fixed panel and one sliding, it’s easy to use and perfect for smaller bathrooms. The frosted finish adds privacy, while the interior of the glass includes a spot-resistant coating to reduce water marks—although we still recommend keeping a squeegee handy to maintain that just-cleaned sparkle.
Finally, for the ultimate in comfort, we installed a folding teak shower seat. This floating design saves space and offers a warm, natural accent to the sleek chrome finishes throughout the shower. Backed by a reinforced support system, it’s as sturdy as it is stylish.
From start to finish, this renovation was all about creating a space that the homeowner could enjoy every day—safe, easy to use, and beautiful to look at. It’s always a joy to see a vision come to life, especially when it transforms someone’s daily routine for the better.
