What began as an outdated tub-and-shower combo—difficult to access and no longer safe for everyday use—has now been transformed into a bright, secure and easy-to-maintain walk-in shower designed for long-term comfort and independence.

Our team completed a full remodel from the inside out, taking the space through a detailed, professional step-by-step transformation:

Step 1: Careful Demolition

We began by removing the old fiberglass tub, surround and outdated shower valve.
To protect the home from dust and debris, we used a HEPA dust-collection system, ensuring a clean and controlled environment throughout the demolition.
All materials were hauled away, leaving a clean foundation for the rebuild.

Step 2: Preparing the Structure

Before any new materials were installed, we:

  • Prepped the walls with moisture-resistant greenboard

  • Installed solid wood backing inside the walls to support grab bars and the fold-down seat

  • Reconfigured the plumbing, including installing a new drain and relocating it to fit the new shower pan design

This step ensures long-lasting durability and safe support for ADA-compliant features.

Step 3: Installing the Barrier-Free Shower System

Next, we installed a beautiful, bright and modern white composite stone, slip-resistant, barrier-free shower pan—eliminating the old high tub wall that made entering unsafe.

To help prevent water from escaping while keeping the space fully accessible, the system includes:

  • A collapsible foam threshold

  • A shower-curtain clip for added water control

  • A three-wall acrylic surround in a fresh white color, creating a clean, polished look that instantly brightens the bathroom

Step 4: Modern Fixtures & Safety Features

We upgraded the plumbing with a new Moen single-handle posi-temp shower valve, paired with a coordinating handheld wand in brushed nickel.
A handheld mount was added next to the shower seat for convenience and accessibility.

For easy storage, we installed two brushed-nickel metal corner shelves, placed exactly where the homeowner requested.

To complete the shower enclosure, we supplied and installed a weighted, brushed-nickel shower curtain and rod, designed to stay in place and prevent spills.

Step 5: Comfort & Accessibility Enhancements

One of the most important features of this remodel is the t teak folding shower seat, installed with reinforced backing for total safety. Its warm wood tone adds beauty to the clean white shower walls.

We also installed:

  • A stylish Moen Designer Series 24″ brushed-nickel grab bar

  • ADA-compliant mounting and secure backing behind the wall

These upgrades make the new shower not only beautiful, but safe for daily use and long-term independence.

The Final Result

The old, enclosed tub with difficult access has been replaced with a bright, modern, walk-in shower that prioritizes safety, comfort and clean design.
Smooth walls, slip-resistant surfaces, sturdy grab bars, a comfortable fold-down seat and updated fixtures all come together to create a space that is easy to use and simple to maintain.

This transformation truly enhances the homeowner’s quality of life—turning a once-unsafe bathroom into a secure, inviting and fully accessible shower designed for years of comfort.
