We are pleased to share the details of a recent bathroom renovation project where we transformed a traditional tub setup into a sleek, modern, and fully accessible barrier-free shower. This renovation was designed for both comfort and functionality, offering an elegant, safe, and easy-to-maintain solution.
Demolition & Prep Work
The first step in this renovation was the removal of the existing tub, shower surround, and valve. All debris was carefully hauled away, ensuring that the space was cleared and ready for the new design. To minimize dust during this process, we used a HEPA dust collection system—helping to keep the home clean and free from excess dust.
Barrier-Free Shower Installation
The heart of the project was the acrylic barrier-free shower installation. The team prepped the walls with moisture-resistant greenboard and installed backing to support future grab bars. We installed a white composite stone slip-resistant shower pan that was custom-fitted, along with a new drain and relocation for the pan. A collapsible foam threshold was added, along with a shower curtain clip, ensuring water retention while offering easy access. The shower surround was finished with three-wall acrylic panels in a clean, bright white color, and all joints and seams were sealed for a watertight finish.
Moen Shower Valve & Fixtures
To enhance the shower experience, we supplied and installed a Moen Adler posi-temp valve with a new shower head and handheld wand in a sleek chrome finish. This high-quality valve provides consistent water temperature control, ensuring a comfortable shower experience every time.
Moen Designer Series Grab Bar
For safety and accessibility, we installed a Moen Designer Series 24″ chrome grab bar. The grab bar comes with an ADA-compliant mounting system. We ensured that backing was installed behind the walls to securely support the grab bar, making it sturdy and safe to use.
Shower Curtain & Rod
A stylish and functional shower curtain was added to complete the look. We installed a Moen chrome shower curtain rod with a weighted shower curtain to keep everything in place and provide privacy.
Corner Shelf
To add convenience and style, we installed a metal corner shelf in the customer’s preferred location, offering a perfect spot for toiletries and shower essentials.
